What Makes for a Great Online Shopping Experience: How Internet Retailers like Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Borders are Making Dramatic Improvements
Annalisa Oswald, Design Lead, Allurent
Abstract
User-centric design is a key element to a successful e-commerce site. In fact, a recent study conducted by Allurent and the e-tailing group revealed that 80% of consumers would not return to a retailer's site after having a negative online shopping experience, meaning with most customers retailers have only one chance to make a great impression. Online retailers are hearing this message loud and clear and are turning to Web design teams to help ensure their audience is not alienated by the online shopping experience.
In this seminar Annalisa Oswald, design lead at Allurent, will present several case studies identifying each online retailer's pain points and the solutions the design team implemented to ensure the user experience was engaging, fun and easy to use.
